This line… let me tell you. Not Your Mother’s has got you COVERED from wash day to styling. This line is silicone and sulfate free and made with natural ingredients to help nourish and keep hair healthy. I use a lot of products from this line in my wash and style routines and would definitely recommend any curly girl or guy to give this line a try!
Scalp Care Cleansing Oil
I use the cleansing oil on my scalp before shampooing every wash day. It has a peppermint scent, but it’s not too intense which I really like. Some products that are peppermint scented are a bit too strong for me, so this is a nice balance. The bottle has an applicator tip which makes it super easy to apply right to the scalp. It does have a little bit of a lather, which I do not mind! Afterwards, I rinse a little bit of it out then continue on to the shampoo.
Curl Care Shampoo:
This shampoo is a bit thick. I apply, focusing on my scalp and let the suds wash down the strands. It has a sweet smell, but it isn’t overpowering, it’s very light. THis has more of a lather, and a little of this product really goes a long way. What I really enjoy with this shampoo is that it cleanses my hair but also moisturizes the hair. So after clarifying, my curls aren’t super dry.
3-in-1 Conditioner:
This 3-in-1 conditioner is honestly a game changer. It smells just like the shampoo, that light and sweet smell. You can use this product as a conditioner, leave-in, or a co-wash.I love using it as a leave-in, and use it to prep my hair for most of my styles. This is my go to product to take on a trip with me, since it is so versatile. That way I don’t need to lug three different products with me, everything is good to go with one bottle. The conditioner has really good slip, so I can finger detangle most of my hair.
Deep Conditioning Curl Masque:
The masque comes in a squeeze tube packet. I’m not really sure the best way to describe the packaging, but I really like how easy it is to squeeze out of the tube. The smell is the same as the shampoo and conditioner, and this scent carries through the rest of the line. It is pretty thick and smooth to the touch. The product melts right into the hair as soon as it’s applied, making it easy to finish detangling. It kind of reminds of the other Butter Masque’s from the naturals lines. Honestly any of these masque’s are great to use. I love using this when I need more moisture and keep this Masque as part of my wash day rotation!
Final Thoughts:
I honestly don’t have any negative things to say about any of the products in this wash line. I have found ways to incorporate them all, whether or not I use them consistently or apart of the product rotation. Just like with everything else, I pay attention to what my curls need then decide what products to use accordingly. So if you need a little more moisture, definitely check this line out!
