Celebrating Black History, Remembering Black History

Black History Month is the annual celebration of achievements of Black Americans. It’s also a month of remembrance. Remembering where we came from, the path that was taken to get to where we are today, our successes, and reflecting on how we can continue to forge our paths into the future.

It’s very important for us all to remember that Black history is American history. Black American History starts off dark and twisted. It’s a tale of oppression, racism and struggle. But the story of Black history also shows Black strength, resilience, determination, and hope.

This Black History Month, I will be featuring 4 black businesses every Friday on my Instagram Stories. This post will continue to stay at the top of my blogs page, and going forward, I will continue to update the list of Black-owned businesses. I will make an effort to continue to do this beyond Black History Month. If there are any Black- owned businesses that you know of and would like me to add, please let me know!
